Background: Postural activities involved in balance control integrate the anticipatory postural adjustments (APA) that stabilize balance and posture, facilitating arm movements and walking initiation and allowing an optimal coordination between posture and movement. Several studies reported the significant benefits of virtual reality (VR) exercises in frail older adults to decrease the anxiety of falling and to induce improvements in behavioural and cognitive abilities in rehabilitation processes. Tanto la Sabiduría como la Prudencia han sido tratadas como términos sinónimos desde la Antigüedad. Ambos conceptos se personificaban mediante la diosa Atenea/Minerva. Estas correspondencias han dado lugar a un intercambio de papeles, siendo considerada la Sabiduría como una de las Virtudes Cardinales. Asimismo, en las alegorías de la Prudencia y la Sabiduría encontramos atributos idénticos que responden al mismo significado y función, concretamente: el aspecto armado, el libro, la lechuza, la criba o cedazo y la presencia de algún objeto lumínico.

In “A Perfect Moral Storm”, S. Gardiner claims that "the peculiar features of the climate change problem pose substantial obstacles to our ability to make the hard choices necessary to address it. Climate change is a perfect moral storm. One consequence of this is that, even if difficult ethical questions could be answered, we might still find it difficult to act. For the storm makes us extremely vulnerable to moral corruption". Here I comment on the notion of moral corruption. In particular, I discuss the issues of who is susceptible to it and of what sort of problem moral corruption is.

Comparing Tangible and Fully Virtual Haptic Systems for HMI Studies in Simulated Driving Situations

International audience; The contribution of tangible and intangible feedback is compared for virtual tactile car Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) design, to measure their performance both in static conditions and while driving. A subjectively calibrated transparent glass provides tangible passive haptics, and visual cues are used to study sensory substitution-based intangible interactions. The results show that the performance of the subjects was significantly improved in driving conditions as they interacted faster, more accurately and with a higher satisfaction. Effect of Footstep Vibrations and Proprioceptive Vibrations Used with an Innovative Navigation Method

This study proposes to investigate the effect of adding vibration feedback to a navigation task in virtual environment. Previous study used footstep vibrations and proprioceptive vibrations in order to decrease the cyber-sickness and increase the sense of presence. In this study, we experiment the same vibration modalities but with a new navigation method. The results show that proprioceptive vibrations do not impact the sense of presence neither the cyber-sickness while footstep vibrations increase sense of presence and decrease in a certain way cyber-sickness. La Templanza, como una de las Virtudes Cardinales, ha sido objeto de reflexión por parte de los pensadores desde la Antigüedad, cuando se sentaron las bases de este concepto. A pesar de la ausencia de unos claros precedentes visuales, la Templanza configuró su visualidad en el medievo al igual que sus compañeras. Dicha ausencia motivó una gran variedad de concreciones icónicas de esta virtud mediante diferentes y numerosos atributos.
